Amy recommend you start by just observing older loved ones and five key areas, home, first of all, is their home safe and does it meet their needs? Is it time to make modifications to make daily life easier, safety? Are they able to get where they need to go safely? if they're still driving, try to ride along and observe, if you see problems, it may be time to have a talk about driving.
You may want to suggest the driver safety course, or look for alternative transportation options help, are they keeping up with their health needs and medications? are they eating well and getting exercise? Are they still managing their finances paying bills on time or staying organized? You may need to help them get organized to make it easier, and finally support system, do they have a support system they can depend on in an emergency? Do they have help with yard work or household chores? And are they isolated or do they get plenty of socialization? How is that?
